We already know about this Gym...

Well, it's been over a month now, and I haven't even heard from my neighbor, which I thought would be a good thing, until I got a letter from the Association in my neighborhood.  You see, there is a 10 foot Utilities Easment against the Fence, and unless we wanted to build the Gym on the driveway, we had to put it on the easement.  That Grass strip is approximately 16 feet deep.  I understand that if the utilities company has to dig up my yard to get at things that i'm responsible for the damage done to the Gym because it's on the easement.  I have no problem with that.

Anyway, I get this letter saying that my Gym is in violation of the deed restrictions because it's on the easement.  The rules (as far as I'm aware) just state that you cannot have any PERMANENT structures on the easement.  The Gym is not cemented into the ground.  I call up the association and tell them that it's not a permanent structure, and get advised that they just want me to move it.  I explain that I have no other place to put it, and I talked with the builder several weeks ago and he didn't have a problem with it.  They tell me that they want to talk with the builder and they'll call me back...  No word since then.

So I think that maybe my obnoxious neighbor turned us in...  Well, I'm not giving up without a fight, and I look around the neighborhood and see all sorts of yards with items on the easements.  If they enforce the deed restrictions for a temporary structure on my land, they'll have to do it for everyone.  My obnoxious neighbor's pool actually is on his easement, so before I remove the Gym, my neighbor will wind up "moving" his pool.  And that's the way it stands right now.  I tried to call them today, but couldn't reach anyone.  If I cannot build anything on MY land, is it MY land?  If the association owns that land, then THEY can mow it.

Just label me... Disgruntled with my association...

p.s.  I talked to all my other neighbors, and they all think my obnoxious neighbor IS obnoxious.
